I’m working with a European semiconductor company building sovereign, high-performance CPUs for HPC, AI and data centre workloads. They’ve recently completed tape-out of one of the most complex processors ever designed in Europe and are scaling their compiler team as they move into production and ex ascale deployment.

This is a performance-focused compiler role sitting close to architecture and silicon.

Compiler Engineer Responsibilities

You’ll join a Performance Engineering team working directly on the toolchain supporting a next-generation Arm-based HPC CPU.

Design and implement compiler and tooling features aligned to CPU specifications
Enhance and maintain the development toolchain
Diagnose and resolve performance or correctness issues impacting silicon
Contribute across development, validation and delivery cycles
Analyse compiler/tool performance and feed insights back into architectural decisions

Compiler Engineer background

5+ years’ experience in compiler/toolchain engineering
Strong understanding of compiler internals and optimisation
Experience working close to hardware (CPU architecture exposure is a plus)
Ability to translate product-level requirements into robust compiler implementations
Comfortable in collaborative, cross-functional engineering environments
