Senior Data Scientist

Hybrid – Bristol (1 day per week)

£55,000 per annum

Permanent | Full-time

We’re working with a growing technology and digital consultancy that partners with complex organisations to solve high-impact data, analytics, and AI challenges. They’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to take a hands-on role delivering advanced data solutions while mentoring junior team members and working closely with clients.

What you’ll be doing:

Analysing complex datasets to uncover meaningful insights and patterns
Designing and building machine learning models for predictive and prescriptive analytics
Applying statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to support data-driven recommendations
Cleaning, transforming, and preparing data for high-quality analysis
Exploring advanced techniques such as deep learning, NLP, and AI/ML applications where appropriate
Working directly with stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions
Contributing to end-to-end delivery across Discovery → Alpha → Beta → Live, working in an Agile environment
Producing plans, designs, and prototype solutions to demonstrate early value
Coaching and mentoring junior consultants and analysts
Supporting the growth of internal data and digital capabilities

What you’ll bring:

Essential:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related analytical/technical field
Strong Python skills (e.g. pandas, numpy, PyTorch)
Solid experience with machine learning (regression, clustering, classification)
Strong data modelling and analytical capability
Knowledge of software development best practices and Git-based version control
Excellent communication skills and a consultative mindset
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-moving environments

Desirable:

Experience with AI / GenAI / LLM-based applications
Exposure to low-code platforms (e.g. PowerApps)
Agile, Scrum, PRINCE2 or similar delivery experience
Background in regulated or complex environments (e.g. public sector, defence, infrastructure)
