WHY WE NEED YOU ?
Our growth is driving us to strengthen our Hardware & Bare Metal team to accelerate the automation of our server lifecycle and ensure operational excellence on our bare metal infrastructure.
Your mission will be to design, build, and maintain low-level infrastructure tools and processes in order to deliver scalable, reliable, and automated provisioning for our bare metal servers.
YOUR FUTURE TEAM :

You will be part of a team of 8 DevOps engineers (currently 5 active on this scope), working across the full stack of bare metal systems and automation. The team collaborates closely with Hardware Support, Hardware Design, Network, Admin Console, and Gateway teams.
Work is organized in Agile sprints (2 weeks) with all the rituals in place: daily stand-ups, grooming, retrospectives, closings/openings, and bi-weekly 1:1s.
Manager : Erwan Paillard is an Engineering Manager at Scaleway with over 5 years of leadership experience. He leads the BareMetal team and brings strong expertise in backend development (Go, Python) and distributed systems, combining deep technical skills with proven management capabilities in high-demand environments.
YOUR DAILY ROUTINE :
Tasks
Automate OS/image build processes (legacy BIOS, UEFI)
Debug installation, BIOS, or BMC issues with support from hardware teams
Build and improve features for provisioning, cleaning, and full server lifecycle management
Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab)
Write, test, and maintain infrastructure automation code (Packer, PXE, TFTP, cloud-init)
Collaborate with peers through code reviews and pair programming
Troubleshoot bugs and suggest clean, scalable solutions
Contribute to improving team tooling, documentation, and engineering practices

Hardskills
Strong experience with Linux system internals and image building (live-build, cloud-init, etc.)
Deep understanding of bare metal infrastructure, including BIOS and BMC
Hands-on experience with Docker, PXE boot, TFTP, GitLab CI/CD, and Packer
Familiarity with automation and provisioning workflows
Bonus: Experience with Go and Redfish/Guestfish tooling
