My client is a rapidly growing start-up based in Antrim, currently making their fourth software hire. This is a genuine opportunity to get in early, play a key role in technical decisions, and be part of building something exciting from the foundations up.

The Role – PHP / Laravel Developer

As a Laravel Developer, you’ll work closely with the founding team to design, build and scale a modern web platform. You won’t be a small cog in a large machine – you’ll be a core contributor helping shape architecture, coding standards, and future hiring decisions.

This role would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, ownership, and the fast pace of a start-up environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and developing scalable backend systems using PHP (Laravel)
Building and maintaining RESTful APIs
Contributing to architectural decisions and system design
Deploying and managing applications within a cloud environment
Supporting CI/CD processes and automated deployments
Improving performance, security, and reliability of the platform
Working closely with product and leadership to translate ideas into production-ready features
Helping define development best practices as the team grows

What We’re Looking For

Strong commercial experience with PHP and Laravel
Proven experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or similar)
Experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments
Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL or similar)
Experience building APIs and backend services
Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
Comfortable in a start-up or small team environment
A self-starter who is confident taking ownership of solutions end-to-end
