Job Title Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

Location London - 4 days per week in office

Salary £100,000 - £200,000 + equity

The Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will help design and scale the infrastructure powering an enterprise AI platform. You’ll build high-performance backend services, develop data pipelines that process large financial datasets, and work closely with ML engineers to deploy AI models into production.

Requirements

7+ years backend engineering experience with Python (FastAPI, Flask or Django)
Strong PostgreSQL knowledge (query optimisation, database scaling)
Experience with Redis and asynchronous task systems (Celery or similar)
Experience building scalable APIs and distributed systems
Cloud experience (Azure, AWS or GCP)
Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have

Experience deploying ML models into production
Experience in financial services or other regulated environments
Security experience (authentication, authorization, data protection)
Startup experience
