Position Summary
The Associate Systems Engineer II will design, build, and support technologies to provide a world-class SaaS platform. They work in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment with the desire for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and skills. This position provides the infrastructure building blocks for development and ensures that the operational systems meet their service level goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop infrastructure as code using, Github Actions, Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK
Support the deployment, configuration, and ongoing operations of server hardware, operating systems, and applications used in the SPS Commerce production environments
Monitor and administer systems as assigned to provide appropriate documentation, cross-training, capacity management, and recommendations for future state
Participate in an on-call support schedule
Continually learn about developments in the field to evaluate, propose, and implement enhancements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant post secondary diploma plus at least 1 year of experience working in an enterprise environment.
Familiarity with LLMs and AI Agent development patterns
Real world experience administering Windows and/or Linux
Familiarity with at least one of the public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Ability to write and troubleshoot scripts and automation logic in any of (Python, Powershell, Go)
Proficiency with GitHub/GitHub actions, merging, branching and deployment methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Amazon Web Services including EC2, RDS, Dynamo DB, Route53, Elastic Load Balancers, AMIs, IAM Roles, Ops Works, and Cloud Formation
Understanding of networking systems including, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, BIND DNS, IP subnets
Understanding of various identity and authorization systems including Open LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory, and SAML implementations
Experience administering Linux – Oracle Enterprise Linux, Red Hat, CentOS
Demonstrated ability to specify and build AI agents independently
Experience with Graphana, CloudWatch, or other monitoring and observation tools
Location:
This role follows a hybrid work model, with an initial expectation of two days per week in our Brampton office.

The annual salary range for this role is: $75,000 CAD. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.
