Basic Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of cybersecurity principles. Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a preference in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities For This Position
Role Summary
Join our Custom Applications Team as a Software Development Intern and gain hands-on experience building internal tools and APIs that streamline engineering, operations, and compliance. You’ll work on real projects across multiple departments, implement features across the stack, and contribute to modernizing legacy systems. This internship is designed to boost your technical skills, expose you to AI-driven solutions, and make a real impact on GDMS.
Degree/ Skills required:
Progress toward a BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
C# and Python Programming knowledge and ability
Coursework or projects in one or more: C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, REST, Angular
Have exposure or experience with AI/ML concepts
Strong written and visual documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement features for new and existing applications using the Microsoft .NET stack.
Contribute to the migration and modernization of legacy services to current technologies.
Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps) for automated and consistent deployments.
Engage in peer code reviews and testing to ensure high standards of code quality and security.
Apply DevOps best practices and automation to improve the software delivery lifecycle.
Support the development of our growing portfolio of AI-driven tools and products.
Collaborate in an Agile environment with portfolio managers and BAs to refine requirements, plan sprints, and demonstrate your work.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation for your solutions and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms( e.g. Appian, ServiceNow) used for rapid application development.
Experience with a major cloud computing platform (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD principles.
Knowledge of both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database systems.
An understanding of modern front-end design, including UI/UX principles, web accessibility standards, and component-based design systems.
Target salary range: USD $22.50/Yr. - USD $24.50/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
