£450/day

3-month initial

Hybrid (2 days/week on-site, West Midlands)

North Scout are recruiting a UI Developer for a large UK insurance organisation, working on a major internal digital platform used across multiple business units. This is a UI-led Front-End role focused on building robust, scalable user interfaces for complex, high-volume systems. It’s not a greenfield toy app – it’s proper enterprise engineering.

You’ll be joining a small, senior product team and will have real ownership over front-end standards, component design, and UI quality across the platform.

The Role

This is a hands-on UI Developer position, working in a close-knit delivery team, while collaborating with multiple engineering, data, and product teams across the organisation. You’ll be responsible for building reusable UI components, improving front-end architecture, and ensuring the platform remains maintainable as it scales. This suits someone who’s comfortable working in large systems with lots of moving parts.

Core Skills & Experience

Strong commercial experience with React (senior level)
Solid experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript
Proven experience building reusable component libraries
Experience integrating with APIs and working in structured enterprise environments
Azure experience, ideally Azure DevOps, Repos & Feeds
Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across tech and business

Nice to have

Background working on large enterprise platforms
Experience in regulated environments (insurance, finance, banking)
Exposure to complex internal systems and legacy integration

What You’ll Be Doing

Developing UI for a major insurance platform used across the business
Creating and maintaining reusable UI components
Improving front-end structure and technical standards
Collaborating with back-end engineers, architects, and product teams

Contract Details

£450/day – Outside IR35
3-month initial contract (likely to extend)
Hybrid: 2 days per week on-site in the West Midlands
