Overview
The client is seeking a Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support testing activities for large and complex business-critical systems. The consultant will be responsible for developing testing strategies, designing and executing test cases, validating system functionality, and ensuring quality standards are met across multiple applications.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance on testing strategies, test plans, and testing tools.
Plan and coordinate testing activities for large-scale GUI and non-GUI systems.
Develop and execute Test plans, Test scripts and Test cases
Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Conduct performance, stress, and load testing to validate system scalability.
Validate system functionality under different scenarios and data conditions.
Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, ALM, or Azure DevOps.
Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, UFT, TestComplete, or Postman.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Perform data validation, migration testing, and reconciliation across system components and databases.
Conduct accessibility testing aligned with AODA (WCAG 2.0 AA).
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Maintain detailed documentation of testing activities, results, and quality metrics.
Support preparation of user manuals and release notes.
Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements.
Must-Have Requirements
Proven experience leading and executing manual testing for large, complex, business-critical systems.
Experience developing Test strategies, Test plans, Test cases and expected results
Experience with data analysis, reconciliation, and validation in large systems.
Experience testing web-based 3-tier applications.
Strong knowledge of workflow and rule-driven business systems.
Experience testing custom and COTS implementations, including IBM J-Rules Engine.
Hands-on experience with defect tracking and testing tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla and Micro Focus / HP testing suite
Experience performing Accessibility testing aligned with AODA (WCAG 2.0 AA).
Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
Ability to execute functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Public sector or government project experience.
Knowledge of large enterprise business systems.
Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
Experience with Oracle database tools and backend data validation.
Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Bash) for automation.
Experience with accessibility testing tools such as WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, or Compliance Sheriff.
Knowledge of object-oriented testing methodologies.
Experience testing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.
