Software Developer

6 Months Contract - Inside IR35

Fully Remote

Must be eligible for BPSS and SC Clearance

We are looking for an experienced Developer to join a multidisciplinary Agile team delivering secure, robust, and user-centred digital services within the healthcare sector. You will play a key role in building high-quality software, contributing to technical design decisions, and continuously improving codebases to meet service standards and safety requirements.

This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful digital solutions that support critical healthcare services while collaborating closely with product managers, designers, testers, engineers, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain high-quality applications using modern technologies and best practices
Contribute to technical design discussions and architecture decisions
Build scalable and secure solutions deployed in cloud environments
Implement automated testing to ensure reliability, performance, and maintainability
Support infrastructure as code practices and improve deployment automation
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards
Work within Agile delivery teams, actively contributing to planning sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives, and show-and-tell sessions
Manage technical debt responsibly while delivering value to users

Technical Skills & Experience

Essential Experience

Strong practical experience with React and TypeScript
Proven experience developing with Python
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Athena/Glue, DynamoDB, ECS, S3, Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions
Experience with automated testing frameworks for both Python and JavaScript
Experience using Terraform for infrastructure as code
Familiarity with Git version control
Experience working in Agile delivery environments

Additional Requirements

Eligibility for BPSS and Security Clearance due to interaction with sensitive systems

Exposure to digital product development and live service environments is highly advantageous
