Overview

We are seeking an experienced Performance Analyst with NHS experience to support performance insight and reporting across digital, data and technology services.

This role focuses on linking data to outcomes, tracking delivery and benefits, and providing clear performance insight to support decision-making across programmes, platforms and products. You will work closely with delivery teams, product managers and senior stakeholders to ensure performance data is accurate, meaningful and actionable.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting transparency, governance and continuous improvement across services.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Analysis & Insight

Develop, maintain and enhance performance metrics, dashboards and reporting covering delivery, outcomes, benefits realisation and operational performance
Analyse complex datasets (including services such as the Personal Demographics Service) to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Provide regular and ad-hoc analytical insight to support planning, prioritisation and investment decisions
Support the definition and monitoring of KPIs aligned to organisational objectives and national priorities

Reporting & Assurance

Produce high-quality performance reports for governance forums, senior leadership and assurance processes
Provide evidence to support delivery progress, benefits tracking, risks and dependencies
Ensure reporting aligns with NHS England standards, frameworks and DDAT best practice

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with product managers, delivery teams and senior leaders to understand information needs and performance requirements
Build strong stakeholder relationships to promote a shared understanding of service performance and improvement priorities
Present insights and recommendations clearly, adapting communication for different audiences

Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the development of performance frameworks, analytical methodologies and reporting approaches
Identify opportunities to automate, streamline or improve data collection and reporting processes
Promote a culture of evidence-based decision making and continuous improvement

Governance & Data Quality

Ensure all analysis and reporting complies with information governance, data protection and security requirements
Maintain high standards of data quality, consistency and transparency

Essential Experience

Previous NHS experience (essential)
Strong experience analysing complex datasets and performance data
Experience producing performance dashboards, reporting and insight for senior stakeholders
Ability to translate data into clear recommendations and actionable insights
Experience working with stakeholders to define performance measures, KPIs and reporting requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in fast-paced environments

Desirable Experience

Experience working within digital, data or technology-enabled services
Knowledge of product-led delivery, agile environments or service-based organisations
Experience with performance frameworks, benefits realisation or assurance processes
Experience working within large-scale public sector organisations

Tools & Technologies

Data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI or Excel
Database querying tools such as SQL
KPI design, performance frameworks and metrics development
