About The Role
We are seeking a talented and passionate AI Research & Development Scientist to join Thoth AI’s dynamic R&D team in Silicon Valley. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking advancements in AI model training, active learning, synthetic data generation, and large language model development. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing innovative strategies, exploring state-of-the-art techniques, and developing new architectures that push the limits of current AI capabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, publish research findings, and contribute to open-source projects, all while participating in a fast-paced environment that fosters experimentation and invention. Qualifications
Advanced degree (MS/PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related fields
Strong hands-on experience with Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, Llama)
Proficiency with core AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face
Experience with active learning strategies, synthetic data generation tools, and model evaluation techniques
Familiarity with robotics simulation platforms like ROS and Gazebo is a plus
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP
Experience with version control systems like Git
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Strong communication skills for articulating complex ideas clearly
Authorization to work in the US is required
Responsibilities
Design and implement innovative active learning strategies to optimize data selection and improve model performance and efficiency
Explore and develop state-of-the-art techniques for training large language models, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and scaling methodologies
Develop creative approaches to generating high-fidelity synthetic data, particularly for robotics applications, to enable safer and more robust AI systems
Pioneer new architectures, algorithms, and pipelines for building and training AI models from scratch, challenging existing methodologies
Invent meta-models capable of probing, evaluating, and stress-testing AI systems to identify vulnerabilities and enhance reliability
Lead the initiation and prototyping of new projects, from proof-of-concept research to scalable implementations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to open-source projects, and publish research findings in top AI conferences such as NeurIPS and ICML
