Title: Scrum Master
Position Type: Long term contract role with potential extensions
Location: Boston, MA-Hybrid
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support Agile delivery initiatives for a leading Higher Education institution. The ideal candidate will facilitate Agile ceremonies, support cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement within the software development lifecycle. The Scrum Master will play a key role in ensuring teams follow Agile best practices while delivering high-quality solutions. Experience in the Higher Education domain is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Guide and coach Agile teams on Scrum principles, best practices, and continuous improvement.
Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure the product backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and ready for sprint execution.
Identify, track, and help remove impediments impacting the team’s progress.
Monitor sprint progress and maintain Agile metrics using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
Foster strong collaboration and communication between development teams, product owners, and business stakeholders.
Support release planning and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within Agile teams.
Provide status updates and reporting on sprint progress, risks, and dependencies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master supporting Agile teams.
Strong knowledge of Scrum framework, Agile methodologies, and SDLC practices.
Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and working with cross-functional teams.
Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting projects within the Higher Education domain.
Scrum certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe Scrum Master.
Experience supporting digital transformation or enterprise application development initiatives.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
