The Role
You’ll be the driving force behind the organisation’s Digital Employee Experience (DEX) vision — shaping strategy, uplifting service maturity, and ensuring colleagues have a seamless, modern, productive workplace powered by great technology.
This is a pivotal leadership role, sitting at the heart of IT operations. You’ll manage a talented team of internal and partner staff, influence senior stakeholders, and collaborate with key departments including HR, Communications and Facilities to deliver truly people‑centric technology services.

Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Shape the strategy and roadmap for IT Service Operations and Digital Employee Experience.
Build, lead and inspire a high‑performing technology team in a matrix environment.
Manage a significant operational budget (approx. £1.5m) with a focus on optimisation and value.
Service Excellence
Oversee helpdesk, end‑user services, ITSM tooling and the full digital workplace ecosystem.
Drive service reliability, performance, resilience and continuous improvement using data-driven insights.
Ensure exceptional support experiences — including for VIP users.
Technology Enablement
Drive adoption of M365, SaaS applications, and modern workplace tools.
Lead ITSM evolution, including tooling assessments and roadmap ownership.
Partner with security, architecture and vendors (including key strategic partners like Microsoft).
Innovation & Transformation
Embed automation and AI into service operations to elevate efficiency and customer experience.
Deliver a multi‑year roadmap covering initiatives such as cloud-first identity, deployment automation and digital workplace enhancements.
Bring outside‑in thinking by exploring emerging technology trends and GenAI use cases.
Experience
Strong background leading digital workplace, IT operations or application support teams.
Skilled people leader able to coach, empower and build high-performing technical teams.
Deep experience in ITSM, service maturity uplift and customer‑centric service design.
Hands-on knowledge of M365, modern workplace tooling, and ServiceNow (or similar).
Proven ability to use KPIs, data and insights to drive improvement and build trust.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
