Position: Full Stack Developer

Type: Permanent

Location: London / Hybrid

Parker Stewart are hiring a Full Stack Developer on behalf of a technology company building a geospatial intelligence platform used within the insurance industry. As the platform continues to grow, increased user activity and data volume are creating scaling, caching, and backend performance challenges.

You will join an international engineering team working on a data-heavy system that processes real-time location and tracking information to support risk monitoring and decision-making.

Key Duties:

Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django, building and improving REST APIs that power the platform
Contribute to the React frontend, supporting UI development and integration with backend services
Identify and resolve performance issues, bugs, and caching problems as the platform scales.
Work with PostgreSQL databases and large datasets to support geospatial tracking and analytics
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, and user experience

Experience and Qualifications required:

Excellent hands on software engineering experience building web applications
Strong experience with Python and Django in a production environment
Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and backend services
Frontend experience using React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks
Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases

Nice to have:

Experience with PostGIS or geospatial data.
Exposure to Terraform or infrastructure-as-code tools.
Experience working on data-heavy platforms or real-time tracking systems.
Background in insurtech, logistics, aviation, maritime, or geospatial technology
