Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept

As a key member of our QA Team, you will help to ensure high-quality software delivery standards are met by owning testing efforts within one or more Agile teams. This senior-level role combines deep hands-on testing expertise with responsibility for test planning, execution, and quality risk management.

The ideal candidate will proactively identify gaps, contribute to process improvement, and mentor junior QA team members while remaining strong individual contributors. They work closely with developers, product managers, delivery leads, and clients to ensure quality is built in from the start, including in complex and regulated environments such as Department of Defense programs.   

What will you do?

Quality Ownership & Execution

Own QA activities for assigned features, components, or releases.
Define test scope, depth, and coverage to meet quality standards.
Ensure functional, regression, integration, performance, and exploratory testing are completed effectively.
Identify and communicate quality risks early.
Serve as QA subject-matter expert for assigned projects.

Test Planning & Delivery

Design, develop, and maintain test cases, scripts, and test data.
Execute manual and automated tests across frontend, backend, API, and data layers.
Set up and maintain test environments aligned with fielded client environments.
Review test results, assess release readiness, and ensure completion of testing cycles.
Log, track, verify, and close defects through resolution.
Support build packaging, validation, and release deployment.

Technical Contribution

Perform hands-on testing and validation.
Develop and maintain automated or semi-automated tests where appropriate.
Contribute tests to CI/CD pipelines and maintain test reliability.
Support configuration, API, and data validation as needed.

Collaboration & Client Support

Partner closely with developers, DevOps, delivery leads, and product managers.
Collaborate with clients during testing events and defect investigations.
Support on-site or remote testing activities as required.

Process & Continuous Improvement

Contribute to QA process improvements, documentation, and standards.
Identify inefficiencies in testing workflows and propose improvements.
Support adoption of test management tools and automation practices.
Lead by example in testing discipline and defect management.

Mentorship & Leadership

Provide mentorship to QA I and QA II team members.
Support onboarding and training of new QA hires.
Lead or coordinate QA activities on projects as needed.
Travel up to 20%.

Requirements

Capabilities that will enable your success

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
4-6 years of experience in software quality assurance.
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, Agile practices, and SDLC.
Experience with test planning, test execution, and validation activities.
Experience testing frontend and backend systems.
Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira)
Experience with Zephyr, QMetry, or similar test management tools.
Familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
Familiarity with CI/CD environments.
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Active Secret Security Clearance.
Master's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience supporting DoD or regulated programs.
Prior Senior or Lead QA experience.
Experience in defense, aerospace, or other regulated environments.
Experience with API testing, SQL, or cloud-based systems.
Interest in expanding automation coverage and QA maturity.

Clearance Requirements

Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and willing and eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance at the Secret or Top-Secret level. Existing clearance is preferred
