Role Summary
The IT Business Analyst for Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) plays a critical role in enabling secure, seamless digital identity experiences for customers. This role supports Product Managers and Product Owners in the discovery, refinement, and ongoing delivery of CIAM features and user stories. The ideal candidate operates with a high level of autonomy—driving stakeholder alignment, facilitating decision making, and ensuring the product team is equipped with clear, actionable requirements.
The Business Analyst partners closely with cross functional teams, including engineering, architecture, security, and business stakeholders, to deliver CIAM capabilities that enhance customer experience and support enterprise readiness. This role also communicates progress, risks, and dependencies to product leadership, and actively engages leaders as needed to remove blockers and secure alignment on key product decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Product Discovery & Requirements Management:
Lead and facilitate discovery activities to understand business needs, customer pain points, and technical constraints.
Translate business objectives into well defined features, epics, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Conduct process analysis and document current-state and future state workflows relevant to CIAM capabilities.
Analyze problems, identify solution options, and conduct impact assessments to support product decision making.
Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation:
Independently schedule and facilitate working sessions, workshops, and decision making meetings with business, technical, and security stakeholders.
Drive clarity, alignment, and consensus across teams and leadership groups.
Prepare and deliver status updates, progress summaries, and insights for product leaders and cross functional partners.
Delivery Readiness & Execution Support:
Refine backlog items and ensure stories are ready for development in alignment with Scaled Agile (SAFe) practices.
Partner with Product Owners during PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog prioritization.
Proactively identify and escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies that could impact delivery timelines or product outcomes.
Continuous Improvement & Customer Focus:
Champion a customer centric mindset and support initiatives aimed at improving the digital identity experience.
Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and documentation improvements.
Collaborate with teams to implement best practices in requirements management, product discovery, and CIAM capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
3–5 years of technical experience in IT business analysis or related roles.
Proven experience in problem analysis, process documentation, and requirements development.
Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
Experience working in Scaled Agile (SAFe) or similar agile frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive outcomes.
Passion for contributing to organizational success and continuously improving customer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience analyzing and presenting complex datasets to inform business decisions.
Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) or cybersecurity principles.
Hands-on experience with CIAM technologies such as Ping Identity or ForgeRock platforms.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, especially in supporting documentation and collaboration workflows.
