About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure.

This role focuses on AWS architecture, cloud security, automation, DevOps integration, and infrastructure optimisation. The successful candidate must hold an active AWS certification and have proven experience supporting production AWS environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement AWS cloud infrastructure solutions
Deploy and manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM
Configure and manage AWS networking and security controls
Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Manage CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps practices
Monitor and optimise AWS performance, availability, and cost
Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies
Conduct security hardening and compliance checks
Troubleshoot complex cloud and infrastructure issues
Maintain documentation and architecture diagrams

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in AWS Cloud Engineering
Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services
Experience designing highly available and scalable architectures
Expertise in AWS networking (VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, Load Balancers)
Experience with cloud monitoring tools (CloudWatch or similar)
Knowledge of cloud security best practices and IAM policies
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Mandatory Certification (At Least One Required)

Candidates must hold an active and verifiable AWS certification such as:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
AWS Certified Security – Specialty

Certification must be valid and up to date.

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes / EKS)
Knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash)
Experience with CI/CD tools
Exposure to multi-cloud environments
Experience in enterprise or regulated industries
