Senior Director of Professional Services
A growing technology organization is seeking an accomplished Senior Director of Professional Services to lead its client delivery function and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across all service engagements. This role oversees cloud engineering and consulting teams, drives project execution standards, and ensures that services are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational expectations for quality and customer satisfaction.
The Senior Director will drive operational excellence, champion continuous improvement, manage departmental KPIs, and support revenue and margin targets for professional services engagements. The ideal candidate brings at least seven years of progressive leadership experience, a proven ability to build and scale high-performing teams, and a strong track record in client engagement, operational delivery, and service organization growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead proactively by anticipating risks, resource needs, and customer expectations to ensure smooth execution across all ongoing and upcoming engagements.
Optimize an efficient organizational structure that enhances productivity, minimizes operational inefficiencies, and maintains consistency in service delivery.
Execute the professional services delivery strategy in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships; act as a senior escalation point and work directly with clients to understand evolving needs and ensure satisfaction and retention.
Oversee day-to-day delivery operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, successful project execution, and effective utilization of team resources.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing professional services team while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Manage resource planning, including staffing levels, skills alignment, and workload balancing, to support ongoing project demand and evolving client requirements.
Drive operational efficiency through standardized processes, improved workflows, and adoption of tools that support project management, reporting, and communication.
Identify, track, and report KPIs to measure cost efficiency, operational performance, team productivity, and service quality.
Partner with senior leadership on delivery improvements, operational planning, and initiatives that strengthen customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
Work collaboratively across departments to address inefficiencies and support broader process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration).
7+ years of experience leading professional services teams within a consulting, cloud, or technology-focused environment.
Strong blend of technical understanding and leadership experience (7+ years combined).
Proven success in client relationship management, service delivery leadership, and operational performance improvement.
Deep familiarity with project management best practices and methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing technical and delivery teams.
Proficiency with tools and technologies used for service delivery, operational reporting, and project management.
Experience with PSA or ERP systems such as FinancialForce.
