Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for the Head of Physical AI, based in Manchester with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The Head of Physical AI will lead the development of cutting-edge AI solutions for autonomous robotics, computer vision, and physical systems powered by MSAI’s Large Language Model, MOTHER. Daily responsibilities include designing and deploying AI algorithms, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and overseeing the integration of machine learning and AI technologies into physical systems. The role also entails ensuring robust and ethical application of AI in line with MSAI’s mission.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in Computer Science, including algorithm design and software development
Proficiency in Data Science, with experience in handling large datasets and statistical analysis
In-depth knowledge of Pattern Recognition and its application in physical and autonomous systems
Advanced skills in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and building AI-driven conversational and decision-making agents
Experience with Computer Vision for robotics, object recognition, and navigation systems
Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead interdisciplinary teams
Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset for developing innovative solutions
Doctorate or master’s degree in a relevant field is highly desirable
Experience working on projects in the AI or autonomous systems domain is a strong plus
