Senior React Developer – Capital Markets Trading Technology

Contract Length: 12 months + potential to extend

Location: Remote (Preference for candidates located in Toronto)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior React Developer to join a team building modern front-end trading applications supporting ETF trading workflows in a capital markets environment. This role will focus on developing high-performance user interfaces used by trading teams while contributing to scalable front-end architecture and reusable UI components.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in lean engineering teams, can work independently, and has experience building market-facing financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop modern front-end applications using React
Build intuitive and high-performance user interfaces for trading and market workflows
Partner with trading teams and technology stakeholders to deliver front-end solutions
Implement scalable front-end architecture using modern frameworks
Ensure application performance, reliability, and responsiveness
Contribute to reusable UI component frameworks

Must-Have Qualifications

7+ years of software development experience
Strong expertise building front-end applications using React
Experience working within capital markets or trading environments
ETF trading technology experience
Experience with Chakra UI
Experience using NX (monorepo tooling)
Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience building trading platforms
Experience with market-facing financial applications
Exposure to capital markets technology ecosystems
Experience building high-performance financial systems
