Cloud Architect – Microsoft Azure

Up to £70,000 (negotiable) + exceptional benefits | Permanent | Hybrid - Newbury

We are looking for a Cloud Hosting Architect to lead the design, delivery, and ongoing improvement of enterprise cloud and on-site hosting platforms. You will take ownership of architecture across Azure, ensuring critical business systems are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.

This is a hands-on architecture role with genuine influence, ideal for someone who enjoys shaping strategy as well as getting involved in delivery.

The role

Design and deliver scalable, secure, and sustainable hosting solutions on Azure (ideally with some AWS exposure)
Lead technical discovery sessions, workshops, and site assessments
Produce cloud architecture roadmaps and reference frameworks
Embed InfoSec, SecOps, and data privacy principles into all designs
Oversee solution delivery and work closely with engineers
Produce clear technical documentation and reusable assets to support MVPs and POCs
Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and internal security policies
Stay ahead of emerging technologies across cloud, AI/ML, and information security

Skills and experience

Strong hands-on experience with Azure hosting and cloud technologies
In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, Azure essential and AWS desirable
Experience delivering cloud migrations or IT transformation programmes
Good understanding of enterprise architecture principles
Confident engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Knowledge of ISO 27001 and/or Cyber Essentials Plus
