Croydon (1–2 days/week) + occasional travel to Reading

Are you an experienced DevOps Engineer passionate about AWS, automation, and delivering secure, scalable cloud platforms? Join us at Mastek UK and play a key role in one of the UK’s largest digital transformation programmes—modernising critical government services.
About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will:
Build and automate secure AWS environments following best practices
Drive DevOps culture—collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement
Support multidisciplinary agile teams and remove delivery blockers
Lead workshops, manage technical escalations, and champion servant-leadership
Deliver highly available, secure, and scalable cloud platforms
Key Skills & Experience (Essential)
5+ years with AWS services (EC2, RDS, Aurora PG, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, etc.)
Strong Terraform experience
Proficiency in Linux, Docker, and Amazon Linux 2023
Solid Jenkins + Groovy pipelines experience
Strong scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, Java)
Strong PostgreSQL admin, performance tuning, HA, replication, backup/DR
Experience in 24/7 production AWS environments
Monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Alert Manager
Git, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow
Strong troubleshooting & root cause analysis skills
SC Cleared and UK‑based for duration of the programme
Desired Skills
• Linux sysadmin, AD, network fundamentals
• Firewall/switch config & patching
• AWS/Azure certifications (or willingness to attain)
• Public sector delivery experience
• Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
