Job Description
**Job Title:** Category & Consumer Insights Manager **Role Summary:** Leverage data analytics, shopper and consumer insights, and category strategy to drive profitable growth for assigned retail customers. Serve as the strategic partner to marketing, sales strategy, and customer-facing teams, translating complex data into actionable stories that influence decision-making across the organization. **Expectations:** - Deliver clear, data‑driven insights that shape category vision and drive top‑line sales. - Build trust and credibility with key account buyers through consistent, insightful, and actionable recommendations. - Maintain high accuracy and integrity of all insight libraries, dashboards, and POS data. - Demonstrate entrepreneurial ownership in identifying and exploiting growth opportunities within assigned categories. **Key Responsibilities:** - Integrate shopper and consumer insights for Business Units, providing strategic thought partnership to Marketing, Sales Strategy, and Commercial teams. - Curate, manage, and expand the BU’s Knowledge Base / Insight Library ensuring data integrity and relevance. - Synthesize data from sources (NIQ, Shopper Intelligence, Numerator, Nielsen, loyalty, POS, retail panel) to generate best‑in‑class insights. - Act as Category Advisor: develop category vision, conduct line reviews, planogram optimizations, and present monthly category reviews to customers. - Use space‑management software to create shopper‑centric planograms that maximize sales and shelf performance. - Oversee and support Power BI OMNI Dashboard; maintain customer POS databases and syndicated data feeds. - Collaborate with buying teams to translate insights into category strategy recommendations and shopper experience improvements. **Required Skills:** - Advanced analytical proficiency (Excel, Power BI, data mining). - Strong storytelling ability to communicate insights to non‑technical stakeholders. - Strategic thinking with a focus on measurable business impact. - Excellent project management and cross‑functional collaboration skills. - Proficiency in retail proprietary software (POS, planogram tools) and syndicated data platforms. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field. - 5–7 years of relevant experience, including: - 3–5 years in category management with large retailers. - 2–3 years in key account management within a CPG organization. - 1–2 years of experience with Nielsen/ACNielsen data and tools. - Demonstrated ability to use multiple data sources for actionable insights.
