Job Description
Job Title: Privacy Advisor Role Summary Senior privacy specialist responsible for ensuring compliance with GDPR, Belgian corporate data protection laws, and group privacy policies. Advises business units on privacy risk management, embeds privacy‑by‑design, manages incidents, and delivers training and policy development. Expectations - Lead the evolution of the company’s privacy compliance program. - Provide day‑to‑day privacy guidance to stakeholders, reviewing impact assessments, data inventories, and evidence of compliance. - Influence IT, InfoSec, and functional teams on protection strategies. - Embed privacy‑by‑design into new processes and systems. - Handle data subject requests and investigate, document, and remediate data‑related incidents. - Ensure products and services meet all privacy regulations in all operating markets, primarily GDPR. - Support external vendor and third‑party interactions, including reporting to regulators and group bodies. - Conduct regular privacy training for staff. - Maintain and update internal privacy policies and procedures. - Monitor emerging regulatory developments, assess impacts, and formulate risk‑tolerant responses. - Fulfill group and external reporting obligations. Key Responsibilities - Develop and enhance privacy compliance framework. - Review and approve privacy impact assessments and data mapping documents. - Advise and influence cross‑functional stakeholders on privacy matters. - Implement privacy‑by‑design principles in product development. - Respond to data subject access requests. - Investigate, document, and remediate potential data breaches. - Align products/services with GDPR and local regulations. - Manage vendor privacy due diligence. - Conduct privacy awareness training sessions. - Update internal privacy policies and procedures. - Horizon‑scan for regulatory changes and advise on legal strategies. - Prepare and deliver privacy compliance reports. Required Skills - Deep knowledge of GDPR and Belgian data protection laws. - Experience in privacy risk assessment, impact analysis, and data mapping. - Ability to influence and communicate with technical and business stakeholders. - Strong incident response and breach remediation capabilities. - Proficiency in Dutch, French, and English. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. - Ability to work autonomously and manage stressful situations. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Minimum 3 years of relevant privacy or data protection experience. - GDPR‑related professional certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent) preferred.
