Job Description
**Job Title** Lead Civil Engineer – Lead Civil Works Engineer **Role Summary** Senior civil engineer responsible for the design, tendering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of offshore foundations, drainage, cable culverts, and earthing systems for a large-scale energy infrastructure project in the North Sea. **Expectations** - Lead multi‑disciplinary project teams and external contractors through all project phases. - Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, acting as the safety lead. - Deliver projects on time and within budget, providing clear cost, schedule, and progress reporting. - Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, contractual, and delivery risks. - Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory authorities. - Manage the contractor and detailed design activities while ensuring alignment with project interfaces. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Oversee civil works design, detailing, and construction of foundations, drainage, cable culverts, and earthing systems. 2. Develop and execute the European tender strategy, lead procurement and negotiate with contractors and suppliers. 3. Manage the appointed Civil Works Contractor, ensuring adherence to design specifications, construction methodologies, and interface requirements. 4. Act as the project safety lead, enforcing safety policies and facilitating safety inductions and audits. 5. Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, project control, and external consultants to maintain project integration. 6. Provide accurate cost, schedule, and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders. 7. Execute risk management activities, identifying and mitigating technical, contractual, and delivery risks throughout the project lifecycle. **Required Skills** - Civil engineering knowledge with 5+ years of infrastructure or offshore project delivery experience. - Proven construction management experience in offshore, marine, or remote sites. - Strong understanding of European tendering and contract management processes. - Leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Dutch an advantage. - Demonstrated ability to manage safety, environmental, and quality standards in large engineering projects. **Required Education & Certifications** - Degree in Civil Engineering (Bachelor or Master). - Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience in civil/offshore infrastructure delivery. - Familiarity with European contract classifications (EPC, Design‑Build, etc.) is essential. - Certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are highly desirable but not mandatory.
