Job Title: Contracts Manager
Role Summary:
Take ownership of complex, high‑value construction projects across the UK. Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality, while building and sustaining client relationships. Drive commercial, operational, and sustainability excellence through P&L management, Lean principles, and digital tools.
Expectations:
- End‑to‑end project delivery, from bid through completion.
- Full P&L responsibility for multiple concurrent projects.
- Maintain Zero Harm safety culture and lead continuous safety improvement.
- Manage change, risk, and stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate with external consultants, subcontractors, and supply‑chain partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage delivery and performance of multiple projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Lead safety initiatives and promote Zero Harm culture.
- Build and sustain strong client relationships, acting as primary point of contact.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Oversee external consultants, subcontractors, and supply‑chain partners.
- Implement operational excellence via planning, risk management, project controls, and Lean construction.
- Champion sustainability metrics (waste, energy, water efficiency).
- Utilize BIM, Lean Visual Management, and digital tools to optimise delivery and safety.
- Provide accurate, robust reporting on progress, risk, and performance to senior stakeholders.
- Support repeat business and long‑term client partnerships through outstanding delivery.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a Contracts or Project Manager in the construction sector.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and team‑motivation abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
- Sound commercial and financial awareness with P&L experience.
- Understanding of Lean construction principles and their application.
- Knowledge of contract conditions and change‑control processes.
- Proficiency in BIM, Lean Visual Management, and digital project tools.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver under pressure.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Valid CSCS card.
- Relevant professional or technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, Diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, or equivalent) – desirable but not mandatory.
