Software Engineer, Product Frontend (2‑8 YOE)
**Role Summary**
Front‑end‑leaning full‑stack engineer responsible for designing, building, and delivering high‑quality, performant UI features for Airtable’s product platform, including core UI, AI‑assisted tools, and builder experiences. Works cross‑functionally with product, design, research, and data science to translate customer needs into reliable, user‑centric solutions.
**Expectations**
- 2‑5 years of professional experience in modern web development.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/React and comfortable working across the stack (Node.js, SQL, AWS).
- Ability to own end‑to‑end feature implementation, from specification to production.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; capable of gathering requirements directly from users.
- Ownership mindset with attention to detail and balanced decision‑making (speed vs. quality).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Spec, design, and implement UI components and features that are fast, consistent, and user‑friendly.
- Develop and maintain full‑stack code (React, HTML/CSS, Node.js, SQL, AWS) for end‑to‑end product functionality.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to define requirements and deliver solutions that unlock user value.
- Contribute to complex backend systems such as permissions, commenting, and notifications.
- Participate in AI‑focused initiatives (Omni, Builder Experience) to embed AI assistance throughout the platform.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability through testing, code reviews, and best practices.
- Engage with customers to validate assumptions, gather feedback, and iterate on features.
**Required Skills**
- JavaScript/TypeScript; strong expertise in React.
- HTML5, CSS3, responsive design.
- Node.js and experience building REST/GraphQL APIs.
- SQL and relational database fundamentals.
- Basic AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda) and cloud‑deployment concepts.
- Git version control and collaborative workflow (pull requests, code reviews).
- Automated testing (unit/integration) and debugging proficiency.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
