**Job Title:**
Infrastructure Support Specialist
**Role Summary:**
Provide second‑line support, daily management, and optimization for the IT environment, bridging the service desk and technical teams. Ensure network, server, and platform stability, security, and continuous improvement through proactive monitoring, automation, and effective communication with internal customers.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver timely, high‑quality technical solutions to complex issues.
- Maintain a secure, stable IT environment through monitoring and patching.
- Drive process, configuration, and automation improvements with measurable outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with non‑technical users and collaborate across support tiers.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Resolve second‑line incidents that first‑line support cannot address.
- Monitor networks (WAN, LAN, VPN, 802.1X, firewalls), servers, virtual machines, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis, document findings, and close tickets in the ITSM system.
- Apply cybersecurity best practices: patch management, endpoint protection, and security awareness.
- Automate repetitive tasks with PowerShell and other scripting tools.
- Analyze logs (Windows Event Viewer, Syslog, cloud logs) to detect and prevent issues.
- Plan and implement configuration changes, upgrades, and optimizations with clear deliverables.
- Collaborate with first‑ and third‑line engineers, security teams, and other stakeholders.
**Required Skills:**
*Technical:*
- Expertise in Windows, Linux, Active Directory, M365, virtualization, storage, and workstations.
- Deep knowledge of networking concepts and security (firewalls, VPN, endpoint security).
- PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Experience with monitoring tools, log analysis, and proactive incident response.
*Soft:*
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
- Empathy, customer focus, and calm under pressure.
- Analytical thinking, root‑cause analysis, and creative problem solving.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently or within a team.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or equivalent, or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) are highly desirable.
