Job Description
Job Title: Associate Director Governance Role Summary: Senior leadership position overseeing governance, risk, compliance, audit, and data protection functions. Works closely with trustees, senior leaders, and committees to ensure robust, transparent decision‑making and regulatory compliance. Expactations: - Deliver strategic governance oversight and continuous improvement. - Lead functional teams and manage external and internal audit cycles. - Represent the organization as Data Protection Officer. - Liaise with senior stakeholders to influence policy and process. Key Responsibilities: - Manage a cross‑functional team in governance, risk, compliance, internal audit, and data protection. - Develop, maintain, and update the corporate risk register and internal audit program. - Oversee board and committee meeting facilitation, elections, and internal reporting. - Ensure GDPR compliance and act as Data Protection Officer. - Coordinate insurance renewals and monitor risk mitigation efforts. - Drive governance and operational process improvements organization‑wide. Required Skills: - Senior governance, legal or compliance experience. - Deep knowledge of governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and data protection. - Strong stakeholder engagement and influence skills. - Proven leadership, team development, and decision‑making support. Required Education & Certifications: - Governance qualification (e.g., CGI) or equivalent professional experience.
