**Job Title:** Solutions Architect – Public Sector (Government Contractor)
**Role Summary:**
Lead strategic architectural design and governance across large public sector programmes. Deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions that align with business strategy and government compliance requirements.
**Expectations:**
- Own architectural coherence and governance for multi‑disciplinary programmes.
- Influence senior stakeholders, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to adopt a shared technical vision.
- Drive innovation while ensuring security, performance, and cost‑effectiveness.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, review, and maintain high‑level technical architectures, blueprints, and reference models.
- Define technical standards, roadmaps, and transition plans for products, projects, and technologies.
- Conduct business‑as‑usual architecture activities and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
- Partner with delivery teams (Agile and Waterfall) to translate architecture into actionable design and implementation.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, including senior executives, departmental leaders, vendors, and classified environment teams.
- Provide expertise in security architecture: Zero Trust, secure‑by‑design, identity & access management, and privileged access.
- Design and implement Google Cloud Platform solutions, including IaC, governance, cost optimisation, and compliance.
- Architect solutions for on‑premises classified environments and software‑defined data centre technologies.
**Required Skills:**
- **Stakeholder Management & Influence** across multiple disciplines and senior leaders.
- **Communication** – translate complex technical concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- **Architectural Leadership** – develop vision, principles, standards, blueprints, and roadmaps.
- **Technical Experience** – solution architecture for large programmes, cross‑functional delivery, Agile & Waterfall.
- **Platform Knowledge** – Microsoft and Linux deployments (physical, virtual, containerised).
- **Infrastructure Design** – software and infrastructure considerations; collaboration with engineering teams.
- **Google Cloud Expertise** – design, implementation, IaC, governance, compliance.
- **Security Focus** – Zero Trust, secure‑by‑design, identity & access management, privileged access, classified environment compliance.
- **Software‑Defined Data Centre** – networking, storage, compute virtualization.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications: TOGAF, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
- Security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM) preferred.
- SC/DV security clearance required.
