**Job Title**
Data Scientist (Healthcare)
**Role Summary**
Execute end‑to‑end data science projects for healthcare/insurance domains, developing and deploying predictive models, dashboards, and AI workflows that deliver measurable business impact in a fully remote environment.
**Expectations**
* 6–8 years of applied data science with demonstrable ROI.
* Strong stakeholder collaboration and clear communication to executive audiences.
* Adherence to HIPAA/PHI compliance, reproducible research standards (Git, notebooks, experiment tracking).
* Leadership in modern ML operations, including model packaging, monitoring, and drift detection.
* Engagement in LLM initiatives such as prompt engineering, RAG, fine‑tuning, and AI workflow automation.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Define measurable use cases (risk, churn, fraud, utilization, etc.) in partnership with business stakeholders.
2. Collect, cleanse, and engineer diverse healthcare datasets (claims, eligibility, EMR, utilization).
3. Build, evaluate, and iterate regression, classification, tree‑based (XGBoost, LightGBM), clustering, and time‑series models.
4. Productionize models with data/MLOps teams: create pipelines, package solutions, enable monitoring, and manage model drift.
5. Develop dashboards (Power BI/Tableau) and executive‑ready presentations.
6. Ensure compliance, reproducibility, and version control (Git, notebooks, experiment tracking).
7. Contribute to LLM projects: prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, fine‑tuning, and agentic AI workflows.
**Required Skills**
* Advanced SQL and proficiency in Python or R.
* Experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Hive, HDFS or equivalents).
* Practical machine‑learning expertise: regression, classification, clustering, tree ensembles (XGBoost/LightGBM), time‑series.
* Familiarity with cloud ML platforms: Databricks, Azure ML, Vertex AI.
* Exposure to LLMs, fine‑tuning, and agentic AI concepts.
* Proficiency in Git/GitHub, Jupyter/Databricks notebooks, MLflow, and data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau).
* Strong written and verbal communication; stakeholder management.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* BS/BS+ or MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
* Healthcare payer/provider domain experience is a strong plus.
