Job Title: Junior Business Analyst
Role Summary:
A Junior Business Analyst (public sector) will gather, analyze, and document data, system, and business requirements. They will produce formal artifacts (DRD, SRD, BRD, FRD, models, use cases) and facilitate communication among stakeholders, IT, and external vendors. The role supports Agile and Waterfall projects, contributes to backlog refinement, and assists in change management and digital transformation initiatives.
Expectations:
- Deliver complete, accurate requirement artifacts that enable development and QA teams to build solutions.
- Act as a liaison, ensuring business and technical stakeholders share a common understanding of solutions.
- Identify and recommend technology or process improvements that increase efficiency and support data‑driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Data & Systems Analysis** – Lead elicitation, analysis, and documentation of data/system requirements; create DRDs, SRDs, data models (ERD, UML, DFD), and use cases with acceptance criteria.
2. **Business & Requirements Analysis** – Own business and functional requirements; produce BRDs, FRDs, process models (BPMN, UML, swimlane), and user stories.
3. **Stakeholder Engagement** – Facilitate workshops, JAD sessions, and interviews; collaborate with product owners, project managers, developers, and QA.
4. **Systems Optimization & Digital Transformation** – Analyze current systems, propose automation or re‑engineering projects aligned with organizational goals.
5. **Agile & Project Support** – Work in Scrum/Kanban and Waterfall environments; support backlog refinement, prioritization, and technical specification translation.
6. **Business Readiness & Change Management (Support)** – Assist in preparing stakeholders for new processes or systems; provide documentation and knowledge transfer.
Required Skills:
- Data analysis (SQL, LINQ, data extraction).
- Business analysis methodologies (BRD/FRD creation, BPMN/UML modeling).
- Proficiency in generating data models (ERD, FD, UML).
- Requirement elicitation techniques (interviews, workshops, JAD).
- Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall project support.
- Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate technical specs into business terms and vice‑versa.
- Knowledge of digital transformation, automation, and data‑driven decision strategies.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Public sector experience preferred.
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-BAP, or Agile (CSM/PSPO) are a plus.
