**Job Title**: Network Field Technician – Retail Domain
**Role Summary**
Lead on‑site network installation and support for retail clients across the United States, coordinating partner resources and subcontractors, managing site surveys, cabling, equipment placement, OS upgrades, and quality assurance. Requires 75 % travel, 6‑month contract, $30‑$40 /hr, with reporting to the Branch Services Practice.

- Serve as the onsite lead and liaison for partner resources and subcontractors.
- Manage scheduling, coordination, and quality expectations for field teams.
- Provide training on standards, safety, and quality control.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and coordinate partner and subcontractor field technicians on multiple concurrent projects.
- Analyze and document device staging requirements and create field‑ready survey/install guides.
- Schedule, interview, and manage field technicians, ensuring timely delivery of as‑built documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Management to execute onsite tasks and resolve issues.
- Conduct Dead‑on‑Arrival (DoA) and Green‑Light testing, post‑installation QA, and integration of infrastructure components per slotting matrix and cabling diagrams.
- Perform OS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, and other networking gear; manage console access for remote engineering.
- Execute cabling tasks: pulling, securing, splicing, conduit running, and cable management.
- Unbox, rack, mount, and physically place network devices.
- Train field staff on expectations, quality control, and site work standards.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in network cabling, optical fiber types, and infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with command‑line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS) and networking protocols.
- Ability to upgrade network OS and manage console access.
- Hands‑on cabling installation, device placement, and physical infrastructure tasks.
- Strong documentation, quality assurance, and project coordination abilities.
- Excellent communication with peers and customers; effective problem resolution under pressure.
- Decision‑making, analytical thinking, and prioritization skills.
- Time‑management and the ability to adapt to shifting project scopes.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years progressive experience in network implementation and support.
- Certifications: BICSI Installer (or equivalent), CCENT (or equivalent), Network+ (or equivalent), A+ (or equivalent).
- Datacenter experience preferred.
