Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Director, Business Development **Role Summary** Lead end‑to‑end business development for defense and aerospace markets, identifying emerging technology opportunities, crafting competitive proposals, and driving revenue growth through strategic capture and partnership initiatives. **Expectations** - Deliver consistent year‑over‑year revenue growth in DoD and commercial segments. - Secure new defense contracts, including SBIR/CRADA opportunities. - Build and sustain a long‑range opportunity pipeline. - Travel up to 50 % for customer engagement, trade shows, and industry events. **Key Responsibilities** - Own the capture lifecycle: opportunity identification, market analysis, strategy development, proposal writing, and post‑award execution. - Partner with technical, finance, and operations teams to align solutions with customer needs and strategic roadmaps. - Conduct competitive intelligence, price‑to‑win analysis, and risk assessment. - Develop and present “go‑to‑market” plans and business cases to executive leadership. - Build trust with senior customers and program offices through regular engagement and call planning. - Identify and nurture strategic alliances, joint‑venture partners, and acquisition targets. - Maintain pipeline health, forecasting, and reporting to leadership. - Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and seminars to stay abreast of trends. **Required Skills** - 7‑10 + years in business development within defense/technology, with 5 + years in an engineering context. - Deep understanding of technology transition, product/market development, and US military requirements. - Expertise in SBIR/CRADA, M&A, IP protection, and government contracting. - Proven proposal development and contract negotiation skills. - Strong leadership, communication, and relationship‑building capabilities. - Analytical mindset with proficiency in market research and competitive analysis. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (engineering preferred). - U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain or currently hold a Secret Security Clearance. ---
