Job Description
**Job Title:** Payroll Specialist **Role Summary:** Responsible for full-cycle payroll processing and benefits administration for a regulated mid-sized organization. Ensures accurate, timely payroll and compliant benefits operations while providing a positive employee experience. **Expectations:** - Execute bi-weekly or monthly payroll within required deadlines. - Maintain compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations. - Resolve discrepancies and support complex payroll scenarios across multiple jurisdictions. - Administer comprehensive benefits programs and coordinate enrollment and renewals. **Key Responsibilities:** - Process payroll for all employees, including new hires, terminations, and updates. - Reconcile payroll data, investigate variances, and prepare accurate tax filings and year‑end reports. - Calculate bonuses, overtime, and variable compensation. - Manage multi‑jurisdiction payroll requirements. - Administer group benefits (health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans). - Coordinate benefits enrollment, open enrollment, and annual renewals. - Verify benefit deductions, resolve employee or vendor issues, and process benefit invoices. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in payroll systems (ADP preferred; other systems acceptable). - Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and benefits administration. - High attention to detail, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities. - Clear communication and customer‑focused mindset. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or formal training in Payroll Administration). - 3–5 years of direct payroll and benefits experience.
