Job Description
Job Title: 2026 Summer Student Program Role Summary: Full‑time, in‑office summer student gaining hands‑on experience across multiple functional areas (Operations, Service Excellence, Technology, Finance, People, Governance). The role supports ongoing projects, delivers research, data analysis, and administrative support to help WSIB members recover and workplaces improve safety. Expectations: • Commit to an in‑office schedule up to 5 days a week in 2026. • Participate in training, development workshops, and a career conference. • Contribute to at least one project or initiative within the assigned functional area. • Demonstrate professional behaviour, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning. Key Responsibilities (examples by functional area): • Operations: assist with case data entry, help manage care navigation and return‑to‑work programs. • Service Excellence: support claim registration, employer account services, and customer service process improvement. • Technology: perform basic data analytics, support shared services, and contribute to IT project documentation. • Finance: help with financial reporting, procurement analysis, or actuarial data preparation. • People: aid in HR analytics, communications, or talent acquisition projects. • Governance & Risk: assist with policy reviews, governance documentation, or risk assessment research. Required Skills: • Strong written and verbal communication. • Analytical and problem‑solving abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams. • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools. Required Education & Certifications: • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program (business, finance, technology, health services, public policy, statistics, or related field). • Expected graduation in 2026 or later. • No formal certifications required, but knowledge of data analysis or project management tools is a plus.
