Job Description
**Job Title:** Windows System Administrator **Role Summary:** Administer and maintain Windows-based PLM, CAD/PDM, and infrastructure environments. Manage Aras Innovator deployments, perform system refreshes, patches, and emergency upgrades. Provision and configure Windows Server VMs, monitor performance, and handle security remediation. Support SolidWorks/PDM add‑ins, license management, and integration troubleshooting. Collaborate with IT, Cybersecurity, and development teams to deliver automated testing, data migration, and deployment pipelines. **Expectations:** - Deliver 24/7 PLM system uptime and multi‑environment support. - Conduct regular bi‑weekly and emergency maintenance cycles. - Integrate with enterprise security, patching, and virtual infrastructure teams. - Maintain accurate documentation, configurations, and license records. - Contribute to DevOps pipelines, automation scripts, and infrastructure as code practices. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Aras Innovator Administration** - Deploy, upgrade, and maintain Production, QA, UAT, Development instances. - Perform bi‑weekly refreshes, patching, and emergency maintenance. - Resolve integration, performance, and licensing issues. - Coordinate with DEC, Aras Support, partners, and developers for testing and migration. 2. **Infrastructure & DevOps** - Provision, configure, and optimize Windows Server VMs (VMware/ESXi). - Monitor VM performance, patching, and security agent status. - Maintain software license servers, record configurations, ensure reproducibility. - Develop PowerShell / C# scripts for provisioning, patching, and deployment automation. 3. **CAD/PDM & Engineering Support** - Support SolidWorks/PDM add‑ins, license renewals, upgrade planning. - Troubleshoot ODBC drivers, certificates, policy disruptions. 4. **Security & Compliance** - Execute vulnerability remediation with Cybersecurity teams. - Manage certificate lifecycles, alternative control submissions, EOL tracking. - Evaluate and install security agents/tools; diagnose complex issues. 5. **Cross‑Team Collaboration** - Document processes, share knowledge, and communicate status updates to stakeholders. - Participate in incident reviews, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives. **Required Skills:** - **Technical Proficiency:** - Windows Server administration, VMware/ESXi provisioning, performance tuning. - SQL Server performance and configuration. - DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins). - Scripting: PowerShell, C#. - IT security practices: vulnerability management, privileged access management (PAM). - **Soft Skills:** - Strong documentation and communication abilities. - Cross‑functional collaboration. - Problem‑solving and troubleshooting under time constraints. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field **OR** 5+ years of directly related experience. - Preferred certifications: Security+, Windows Server Administration, Linux+, Network+.
