**Job Title**
Robotics & Mechanical Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, prototype, and validate mechanical components and assemblies for robotic systems. Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and controls teams to integrate hardware and software, ensuring reliable performance and enabling autonomous or semi‑autonomous platforms.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in prototyping and hardware development.
- Strong foundation in mechanical design, kinematics, dynamics, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360) and rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, machining).
- Ability to test, debug, and optimize mechanical subsystems for reliability.
- Effective collaboration across interdisciplinary engineering teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Create detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings for robotic components and assemblies.
- Build and test mechanical prototypes, iterating designs based on performance data.
- Integrate actuators, sensors, and motion components into robotic subsystems.
- Coordinate with electrical, firmware, and controls engineers for seamless hardware‑software integration.
- Conduct mechanical testing, validation, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Support the development of autonomous or semi‑autonomous robotic platforms.
- (Optional) Contribute to perception and control algorithms using AI/ML techniques.
**Required Skills**
- Mechanical design, kinematics, dynamics, and materials engineering.
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360).
- Rapid prototyping and fabrication (3D printing, CNC machining, assembly).
- Mechanical testing and validation.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or ROS is a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.
