Initially on‑site in Toronto for four weeks of training, then a hybrid model (2 onsite days per week). Expectations: - Deliver high‑quality data governance documentation and recommendations. - Collaborate with business units to establish data ownership, taxonomy, and standardization. - Actively participate in stakeholder meetings and joint application design (JAD) sessions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Define and maintain the business glossary and data asset taxonomy. 2. Facilitate meetings with business stakeholders to capture data ownership and standardization requirements. 3. Document functional requirements, process flows, and integration points. 4. Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation. 5. Run and document JAD sessions to gather requirements. 6. Map processes and create documentation artifacts for agile sprints. 7. Collaborate with data engineering and governance teams to implement Purview policies. Required Skills: - 5+ years of Business Systems Analyst experience, with a strong focus on data analytics. - Deep experience in data governance projects, including data quality, lineage and stewardship. - Proven expertise in Microsoft Purview (required). - Advanced SQL query writing and data analysis skills. - Experience designing data models, documenting functional requirements, and process mapping. - Hands‑on experience conducting JAD sessions and eliciting stakeholder requirements. - Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban). - Excellent written and verbal communication; strong stakeholder‑management ability. - Quick learner, able to grasp new concepts rapidly. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. - Preferred certifications: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, or a relevant data governance credential.
