Job Specifications

OnX Canada has partnered with a major Canadian Bank seeking a Data Analyst for a 12-month contract role.

Onsite Requirements: 1-2 days per week in Toronto.

Must Have Experience:

SAS (5+ Years)
SQL (5+ Years)
Power BI, DAX Coding (3+ Years)
Banking/FI Experience

The ideal candidate will have a background in banking, with strong experience in Power BI, SAS and SQL. The successful candidate will work on data analysis and reporting for various initiatives within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform data analysis to support decision-making processes.
Develop, implement, and maintain SAS and SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Generate and automate reports using SAS, SQL, ETL, and Power BI.
Good Python skills
Collaborate with team members to understand data requirements and provide insights.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to provide actionable insights.
Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
Proven experience in the banking industry.
Strong proficiency in SAS, DAX, ETL, and SQL.
Experience with Python
Experience with Power BI
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills:

Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools.
Experience with other data analysis tools and programming languages.
Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
