Job title: AI / Machine Learning Engineer
Role Summary: Design, build, and deploy AI/ML solutions for U.S. federal government operations. Lead end‑to‑end data science workflows, from data wrangling to model training and deployment, to deliver actionable insights and predictive analytics in defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health contexts.
Expectations:
- 14+ years of software engineering experience in similarly sized programs/contracts (C++, Python, or Go Lang).
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
- Proven track record of delivering production‑grade ML models and data‑driven solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication skills for presenting findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data‑driven solutions using Python and R.
- Conduct statistical analyses (regression, hypothesis testing, distribution analysis) to interpret data accurately.
- Design, train, and tune machine learning models with TensorFlow, Scikit‑Learn, and related frameworks for predictive analytics and automation.
- Perform rigorous data wrangling, cleaning, and preparation of raw datasets.
- Collaborate with business, operations, and security teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Produce clear, impactful visualizations and reports for stakeholders.
- Maintain model performance monitoring and iterative improvement workflows.
- Ensure compliance with federal data security and privacy standards.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn) and R.
- Advanced statistical knowledge: regression, hypothesis testing, probability.
- Experience with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn, PyTorch (preferred).
- Data wrangling, feature engineering, and data transformation best practices.
- Proficient in version control (Git), continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, Seaborn) preferred.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience (10–14 years of experience may substitute for degree).
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance (mandatory).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), TensorFlow Developer Certificate, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate) are considered a plus.
