**Job Title:** GCP Cloud Architect (Contract – Inside IR35)
**Role Summary:**
Experienced cloud architect responsible for designing, migrating, and operating secure, scalable, and resilient solutions on Google Cloud Platform. Provides technical leadership, partners with engineering and DevOps teams, and ensures compliance, performance, and cost‑efficiency across cloud initiatives.
**Expactations:**
- Minimum 8 years of hands‑on cloud architecture experience, primarily on GCP.
- British citizenship and legal right to work in the UK without sponsorship (Inside IR35).
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement secure, highly available GCP architectures (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage).
- Lead end‑to‑end migration of on‑premises workloads to GCP.
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and business units to deliver cloud‑native solutions.
- Define and enforce cloud security, IAM, governance, and compliance standards.
- Build and maintain GitHub‑based CI/CD pipelines with automated deployments and approvals.
- Monitor, tune, and optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, and cost.
- Document architecture designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship across cloud projects.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage).
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
- Proficiency in CI/CD automation, preferably GitHub Actions.
- In‑depth knowledge of cloud security, IAM, governance, and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability in performance tuning and cost optimization on GCP.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred: GCP Professional Cloud Architect and/or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certifications.
