Job Description
**Job title:** Compliance Consultant – SOC 2 Readiness **Role Summary:** Provide expert guidance to IT and business teams on SOC 2 readiness, identifying compliance gaps, designing remediation plans, and supporting the implementation of controls, documentation, and best‑practice procedures to prepare for audit engagement. **Expectations:** • Deliver thorough gap assessments and remediation strategies for SOC 2 compliance. • Coordinate the SOC readiness process, including risk assessment, evidence collection, and audit liaison. • Develop and maintain compliance documentation, SOPs, and training materials. • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate status and risks to IT leadership. • Work independently in a fully remote, 12–24+ month contract, without third‑party/C2C candidates. **Key Responsibilities:** - Advise on SOC 2 readiness, gap assessments, and related regulatory frameworks. - Support implementation of controls, remediation plans, and process improvements. - Lead or assist with SOC readiness efforts—risk assessments, evidence collection, audit coordination. - Create and maintain compliance documentation, training programs, and SOPs. - Prepare leadership teams for SOC audits and liaise with external auditors. - Monitor regulatory changes and report compliance status and risks to IT leadership. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience in SOC 2 readiness, compliance consulting, or audit preparation. - Strong knowledge of IT controls, risk management, and regulatory standards. - Ability to conduct gap assessments, develop remediation strategies, and manage projects. - Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder collaboration. - Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and cloud environments (preferred). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Preferred: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). - Hands‑on SOC 2 implementation experience. - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Business, or related field (preferred).
