**Job Title:** Datacenter Operations Specialist
**Role Summary:**
Executes day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of datacenter infrastructure, ensuring reliability, compliance, and performance of hardware, power, cooling, and safety systems. Drives asset management, procurement, documentation, and enterprise service‑management processes across a multi‑technology environment.
**Expectations:**
- Perform turnkey hardware troubleshooting and replacements across servers, blades, and HCI units.
- Maintain rigorous technical documentation, manuals, and asset registers.
- Lead procurement, logistics, and vendor relations for datacenter assets.
- Adopt ITIL‑style processes for incidents, changes, problems, and requests.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis, quality assurance, and audit support.
- Uphold datacenter safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Hardware Operations** – Diagnose, repair, and replace server, blade, storage, and networking components; manage structured cabling and tape media.
2. **Infrastructure Management** – Monitor power (UPS, PDUs, distribution boards), cooling (chillers, containment), fire suppression, and environmental controls.
3. **Asset & Procurement** – Maintain inventory, oversee goods receipt, and negotiate vendor contracts.
4. **Documentation** – Author and update operational procedures, technical manuals, and system diagrams.
5. **Service Management** – Apply incident, change, problem, and service request workflows; plan and coordinate change implementations.
6. **Quality & Compliance** – Lead root‑cause analyses, perform quality assurance checks, support audits, and enforce safety & health standards.
7. **Vendor & Project Leadership** – Coordinate on‑site vendor activity and manage local projects and initiatives.
**Required Skills:**
- Hardware troubleshooting (servers, blades, HCI).
- Structured cabling and media management.
- Power and cooling systems expertise (UPS, PDUs, chillers, containment).
- Fire detection/suppression knowledge.
- ITIL or equivalent enterprise service‑management proficiency.
- Root‑cause analysis, quality assurance, and audit support.
- Asset inventory and procurement management.
- Excellent documentation and technical writing.
- Project coordination and vendor liaison.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional) or higher; equivalent industry certifications preferred.
