Job Description
**Job Title**: Student Trainee (Information Technology) – CES Intern **Role Summary** Provide technical support and development for audio‑visual and IP‑based conferencing systems used by U.S. Cyber Command. Duties include coding control applications, configuring and troubleshooting AV hardware, and delivering customer support across classified environments. **Expectations** - U.S. citizen, ≥16 years old. - Enrolled in a full‑time or part‑time post‑high‑school program (associate, bachelor, or graduate level) at an accredited institution. - Minimum of 2 academic years of post‑high‑school study for entry (GG‑04) or higher education levels for advanced grades. - Provide credential evaluation for foreign qualifications. - Secure a favorable suitability review and maintain a security clearance (access to classified information). **Key Responsibilities** - Write and maintain code (Python, C/C++) for AV control systems, including video matrix switching and audio signal processing. - Configure, test, and troubleshoot conference‑room AV equipment across multiple classification levels. - Set up, configure, and test IP voice and video conferencing platforms. - Offer technical support to end‑users for hardware and software AV solutions. - Complete formal and informal training modules and rotate through technical assignments. - Document configurations, procedures, and support tickets. **Required Skills** - Programming fundamentals in Python and C/C++. - Basic understanding of audio‑visual system architecture, signal flow, and matrix switching. - Familiarity with IP voice/video protocols (e.g., SIP, H.323). - Troubleshooting hardware/software issues. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work in a collaborative, security‑aware environment. **Required Education & Certifications** - Enrollment in an accredited post‑secondary program (associate degree or higher). - Minimum 2 years of post‑high‑school academic study for GG‑04; 4 years for GG‑05 (bachelor’s) or equivalent. - Valid U.S. citizenship; age 16+. - Security clearance ability (favorable suitability review). - No additional certifications required; security clearance is a critical prerequisite.
