Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Technician / Administrative Support Work Category at the Entry/Developmental Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA OC/CE/PACIFIC FIELD COMMAND

Duties

Help

Write programing code for audio/video control systems (similar to Python and C+/C++), including video matrix switching and audio signal processing.
Configure, test and troubleshoot conference room audio/visual systems used at multiple classification levels.
Perform configuration and testing of internet protocol voice and video conferencing systems.
Provide customer support for hardware and software video conferencing systems, audio/visual
Complete formal and informal training, as well as rotational assignments intended to provide and enhance necessary technical competencies.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half time basis.
This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

Student Interns qualify based on their educational achievements.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

To qualify at the GG-04 - Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
To qualify at the GG-05 - Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.
To qualify at the GG-07 - Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education; or Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree.
To qualify at the GG-09 - Completion of 2 academic years of graduate level education, or a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application. Additional information

Upon successful completion of their academic program and the Internship, students may be converted to a permanent position in the excepted service consistent with agency needs, academic achievement, and demonstrated potential. Conversion potential for this opportunity is a GG-2210-5/7/9/11 up to the full performance level of GG-12. However, future budgetary events, hiring restrictions, conversion caps, or other events may preclude the conversion or conversion to a position with the full potential performance level.
