Job Description

Job title: Director of Cyber Security Role Summary: Lead cybersecurity strategy, operations, and governance for an enterprise, reporting to the CISO. Drive policy development, project implementation, budget management, vendor oversight, and talent development to safeguard confidential and regulated data, including PHI. Expectations: * Must have at least 7 years of senior cybersecurity leadership in a large IT environment. * Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. * Demonstrated ability to manage cross‑functional teams and complex projects. Key Responsibilities: * Define and execute the organization’s cybersecurity vision and strategy. * Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures. * Lead technical implementation projects to secure information assets and ensure HIPAA compliance. * Prepare and manage the cybersecurity budget; negotiate and oversee vendor contracts. * Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of cybersecurity professionals; drive career development. * Collaborate with IT, clinical technology, and business units to integrate security controls across systems. * Monitor threat intelligence, incident response, and risk assessments; report findings to senior leadership. Required Skills: * Strong understanding of information security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2). * Proficiency in risk management, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessment. * Experience with security architecture, network security, endpoint protection, and identity management. * Project management skills, including resource allocation and timeline execution. * Vendor relationship management and contract negotiation. * Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred). * Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent. * Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare security regulations.
