Job Title: Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS & LaunchDarkly)
Role Summary: Direct DevOps strategy, driving AWS infrastructure design, CI/CD pipeline architecture, and LaunchDarkly feature flag deployments for enterprise applications. Lead automation, cost optimization, security, and reliability across multi‑cloud environments while mentoring a junior engineering team.
Expectations: 10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE roles with hands‑on experience in AWS services and LaunchDarkly. Proven leadership in designing scalable cloud solutions, managing CI/CD workflows, and implementing IaC. Strong scripting, container orchestration, and DevSecOps practices. Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and team‑building skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and optimize scalable AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI for enterprise applications.
- Implement LaunchDarkly feature flag strategies to enable controlled rollouts, progressive delivery, and A/B testing.
- Lead Infrastructure as Code initiatives with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Drive cloud cost, performance, reliability, and security best practices, including DeSI and DevSecOps.
- Integrate blue‑green, canary, and rolling deployment methods.
- Ensure system observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish DevOps and IaC best practices.
- Support production releases and proactively troubleshoot critical incidents.
Required Skills:
- Expert knowledge of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC).
- Extensive LaunchDarkly experience (feature flags, progressive delivery).
- Strong proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- IaC expertise, preferably Terraform; experience with CloudFormation acceptable.
- Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS) skills.
- Advanced scripting in Python and Bash.
- DevSecOps implementation experience.
- Performance tuning, troubleshooting, and incident management skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator, LaunchDarkly Certified Features Engineer.
