Job title: Cloud Engineer
Role Summary: Design, implement, automate, and optimize secure, scalable cloud environments in Azure, with support for AWS, using IaC, CI/CD, DevOps, and governance practices.
Expectations: Deliver robust, cost‑effective, and compliant cloud solutions, continuously improve automation and monitoring, and collaborate cross‑functionally on modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure (VNets, VMs, Storage, Key Vault, App Services, AKS, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Event Grid).
- Configure hybrid and multi‑cloud connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN, VPC peering, Hub‑and‑Spoke, firewalls, NSGs).
- Develop and maintain IaC with Terraform and ARM templates; standardize provisioning across environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline; automate deployments with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Deploy and manage containerized workloads with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS/EKS), and serverless architectures.
- Implement security best practices (RBAC, IAM, Key Vault encryption, Azure Defender, Policy enforcement, compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting via Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, AWS CloudWatch, ELK; troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Analyze and optimize cloud spend through reserved instances, right‑sizing, shutdown scheduling, and reporting.
- Optionally support data integration using Azure Data Factory, data pipelines, and ETL processes, and manage Azure SQL or PostgreSQL/MySQL Flexible Server.
Required Skills:
- 6+ years cloud engineering experience; deep Azure expertise, AWS exposure.
- Proficient in Terraform (IaC), ARM templates, and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
- Strong networking, security, and governance knowledge.
- Ability to operate in production environments and drive cost‑optimization initiatives.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Cloud Administrator / Engineer.
